Identity Theft Education

Our firm recently hosted an in-house education program on Identity Theft. We heard about many kinds of scams and schemes from multi-national to smaller scale.

On a personal level, these common senses precautions should be observed:

  • Shred cancelled checks, credit card applications
  • Shred old blank checks and bank statements
  • Notify your bank if a new check order does not arrive or if any checks are stolen or lost.
  • Do not respond to phone or e-mail requests to provide personal information or credit card numbers.

The U.S. government's central website for information about identity theft is: www.consumer.gov/idtheft/.

Our firm provides services in the related areas of fraud and business internal controls. Please contact us for advice on how better to protect your assets.
